Title: Re: [GWL]: Idiotic questions and requests How could I resist????
Polly-colodons (3 guesses...platycodon.)
Landskating
Gazaleas (azaleas)
Gazaleas (peonies)
High-biscuits
Psychic (cycad)
"It's spreadin' like wildflowers!"
Fran's example of the flat topped shrub with flat sides reminded me of the customer who argued with me that the Buxus I showed her wasn't at all like her neighbor's squared-off hedge. "But, she said it was called boxwood, honey, and this is round!"
Let me know if you decide to expand your list beyond horticultural borders...I've got three pages of collected malapropisms. ("Would you like some paramecium cheese on your spaghetti?")

Subject: [GWL]: Idiotic questions and requests
"Y'all got any of them "japonicas"?
"Got any "Stik-stake" tamaters?
Jupiters, Flippin "dulas"?
I have been collecting such warped phrases since the 2000 Perennial Plant Convention.
AND I NEED MORE! Can you help?
I have found a whole subculture of retail garden center clerks who share such twisted requests to their amusement in their lunchrooms. Writers and lecturers have more than once had to stifle their smiles when such requests are made and I am compiling these for an article.
Please let them fly and I will give credit when the article publishes. You may share with all or send them to
hortiholic@home.com Thanks from Dan Heims.
