You can root many woody plants by soaking the stem in an alcohol solution of IBA (indole buteric
acid) for an hour and then rooting in sharp sand with periodic misting (a few seconds per hour).
You should be able to root soft wood cuttings of citrus. This may be beyond the resources of the
average gardener but within the means of the intense hobyist. Then there is air layering...
