Re: [GWL]: Landscape trades - what do garden writers want?

I would like to have more opportunities to trial new plants, both annuals and perennials. We need to see what a plant does (or Doesn't do) before we can recommend it for the garden or landscape design.
Information on the care of the plant after it is in the garden is essential to the novice gardener. I'm not trying to put myself out of business, yet 95% of my calls are for maintenance. Assuming the novice sets the plant in the correct location and remembers to water it, they need to know what to do with it (and what it will do) in two or three years from purchase.
I would also love to see some great looking, lightweight, large containers become available at reasonable prices. When I find some fabulous plant combinations that work together, I can't find attractive containers large enough to create a stunning display. Anyone have a resource for containers?
