Re: [GWL]: irradiation of seeds and plants

I'd hope that option would exist, but these machines are sufficiently 
expensive that there probably won't be one for each community.  I think it 
will be a while, at least, before they have these things in 
place.  Therefore it will be a while before they also know they aren't 100% 
effective at killing anthrax spores, although they're pretty effective at 
killing seeds and plants.  Grump!  I'm going to fire off some seed orders 
quickly, and hope they get quickly filled before the machines are in 
place.  I think by next year some things will have changed.  If this lasts, 
think of the diminution of diversity!

Also, my heart aches for the seed company owners who have striven to 
provide the best varieties, fresh seeds, and growing instructions for so 
many good things.  Worse than that, I'm pissed off.  Margaret Lauterbach
