Re: Exposure-only photograph requests?

Yes, I am another lurker here on this list. I would like to add the following. The web is the culprit for me. Many pictures on my personal gardening site are frequently borrowed for other uses. I have begun defacing the most popular pictures on my site by turning them into a banner ad for my site. Unfortunately any picture on the web stays around forever and are passed around. At this moment  www.ezboard.com  chat rooms are using and linking directly to one picture on my site. They are using the old undefaced picture. The guilty party in all this is Google Image search. They spider the web just for pictures and graphics then post them in a searchable data base for all the world to use as they see fit. You should search this data base for your pictures. Remember they are catalogued by the name you named your picture such as image/bruce.jpg You seach Bruce.   Bruce zimmerman     www.brucezimmerman.com

If you let them have the pictures for 'exposure only' it not only
devalues your own pictures (which, I have to say, are worth paying
for) but adds to the downward pressure on rates for everyone...
