Dear Sharon, this is definitely a virus. It is known as bugbear and has been
causing chaos in Australia, New Zealand and I believe the UK. It started in
Malaysia. It does exactly what you described. Gets into people emails and
makes slight changes to address so it looks like it has come from someone
you know. It always has an attachment and if you try to answer it comes back
as undeliverable. Don't open the attachment. Hope this helps, cheers Penny
