For any number of reasons...the future is in digital.

You may be right, Andrew. The _future_ is digital. But I hasn't got here quite yet, at least not for us magazine writers.

Many of my markets won't accept digital images at all. And others will not accept them as email. Which means I would have to first download them to a CD (so, let's add a CD burner to that list of equipment) and mail it to them.

All in all, given the added costs, time, and lack of responsiveness by publications, I'll stick to slides for the time being. Slides are suitable for conversion to any medium, and remain the most flexible method.
