Re: APHIS admitting seeds without phyto?


Was one of your South American countries Argentina?  When I 
tried to mail capsicum seeds to a friend in Argentina, the post office said 
that was not permitted.  

All I formally tested was incoming mail, Margaret. 

But in the past I've had the same problem, with both Argentina and Bolivia. 

FWIW, here is the list of countries from which I recieved test mail. In each 
case, delivery was 6-9 days, and not one of the envelopes was opened:

Chile, England, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, 
China, Brazil, Crete, and Sweden. 

I would have liked to test seeds coming from Columbia, in particular, but 
didn't have a contact there. And I would be interested in seeing more tests 
from the Pacific Rim.
