Re: Editing issues

Fran,

I agree! I set aside a (fiction) book recently to write a scathing
letter about the editing, or lack of. (But, I've been too busy to do
it :>) Yes, it was a famous author and the problems were every few
pages. It really interupts the flow when you have to stop and figure
out what was meant. When I read a fiction book (especially), I expect
it to flow so flawlessly that I forget I'm reading! Poor punctuation,
spelling grammar, etc. just stops the whole fantasy.

Ok, the other thing that drives me up a wall is using huge words no
person in their right mind would ever use in conversation. You are
reading along and...BAM...what the heck does that mean? Why couldn't
they just say...? Boy does that break the flow...and if it is a
mystery or suspense novel, it breaks the whole mood you are supposed
to feel!

My 2 cents...

Sandie Parrott
