publishers

   Recently I asked for recommendations on publishers, and it was
interesting that while one web site was sent, and there was one suggestion
about looking at who the publishers are for existing books, no one
recommended a specific publisher.  In looking through the archives briefly,
I also note that there are very few recommendations of ANY publishers
whenever someone has asked.  Of course there is a good chance the letters
were answered offlist, but I find it noteable that so few members give out
the names of publishers ON the list.
   Yes, I can think of a lot of reasons why such names wouldn't be
publicized, but it also makes me wonder if we have any publishers,
especially book publishers, on the list.
   So, if you are a publisher, how about just standing up and saying "Howdy"
and let us know you are here.  It would be good to know a bit more about the
kinds of talent we have on the list.
