Scotts Miracle Gro buys bird seed co.

Scotts Miracle-Gro to Acquire Gutwein Seed Company

Ohio-based Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. says it will acquire Lafayette's 
Gutwein & Co. Inc. for
$77 million in cash. Gutwein, a family-owned business founded in 
1920, manufactures Morning Song wild bird food. The purchase also 
includes Gutwein's five manufacturing facilities.
