Re: Imagekind
Ellen asked about prices at Imagekind.
There's a base price for prints on standard paper, and it goes up from there
for higher quality paper, canvas, mats, frames, glass, and labor.
A lot of matted and framed work that people are offering on the site is
selling for 160 to 300 dollars, finished sizes 24 inches and above.
The artist or site user can buy his or her own work without the markup. I
use a 40% markup -- a moot point at the moment.
Here for example are unframed print prices on a basic paper. Many megapixels
are required for the larger sizes. Sizes sound like Starbucks!
Petite 7.3" x 10.0" $8.49 / $11.89 after markup
Small 11.0" x 15.0" $9.99/$13.99
Medium 16.0" x 21.8" $12.99/$18.19
Large 23.5" x 32.0" $18.99 /$26.59
Grande 35.2" x 48.0" $32.99/$46.19
Massive 44.0" x 60.0" $46.99/$65.79
The better grades of paper or canvas are more costly, and then the prices
really climb when you start adding a double mat, a cool frame, and UV
resistant glazing.
