Re: unusual holiday plants?
A very old traditional Christmas plant that has fallen out of favor is the
Jerusalem cherry, Solanum pseudocapsicum unless the taxonomists have had their
way with the nomenclature while I wasn't looking. The red fruits are toxic
(deadly nightshade family & all that), so it's not for households with small
children or herbivorous cats. But it's an easy plant to grow and quite
attractive.
And hey, I LIKE painted poinsettias!
