Re: Kindle and its peers
I not only read hort mags on line but travel ones as well...some are very
easy to navigate and enlarge so you can see the text more clearly and have
drop down boxes so you can pick the page you want to read, one page at a
time or both pages up at the same time...they will only get better in my
humble opinion. With these you can pick what you want to print out and read
later or keep for reference. I would much rather have my magazines coming
to me via email than waiting for the postman to deliver and ending up with a
magazine that has tattered edges too :)
I wish the Q & T would come to me this way..there is no reason that it
should not be made available this way. When I think of what we are all
about it seems silly to waste paper and postage each issue. We should lead
by example..sorry, you should not get me going when I have had a glass of
wine :)

There are a number of online trade mags that I read, but the ones that make
it easy to navigate are the ones I value most.
I think acceptance of this medium, whether online or on an ebook reader,
would depend on the value of the interactive elements. If readers turned to
a spread of a gorgeous container garden, for example, and clicked to view
step-by-step instructions on how to put it together, or could click on "sun"
or "shade" to see the same container with plants suited to each, that would
be a page-turner for me.
