The heirs of any estate that owns the rights to valuable material can 
authorize the use of its material for a fee. Martin Luther King Jr. is 
an excellent example.

Publishers delight in being able to publish (reprint) materials for 
which they don't compensate the original author/owner of copywrite 
protected materials.

I have no idea if this is the case with Ruth Stout's article. I 
attempted to raise the question since it should be an issue that 
concerns anyone who sells creative materials - photos, illustrations, 
and text.

I can only hope that people pay as much attention to the details in 
their written contracts and thus are never taken advantage of by 
unethical people who view their actions as just being "good business".
