Re: Moles
I'd like to echo Carla's sentiments regarding "off-topic" threads. When a
posting comes in that doesn¹t interest me, I simply delete it. It takes a
nano-second. Not terribly taxing!
I write a column for the local newspaper every two weeks. I've been doing it
for years, and since I don't like to repeat myself, sometimes subject matter
is hard to come by. I get most of my ideas from questions people ask me and
conversations I have with other gardeners and garden communicators. If a
topic comes up more than a few times, I figure people are thinking about it,
and might address it in a column.
My own mind is perfectly capable of filtering out the "noise" generated by
this list and the world at large. So while I don't think we should be
talking about stuff that has nothing to do with gardening, I really don't
see the harm in threads like the one about moles.
Lon, I appreciate what you are trying to do by keeping control of the list,
but I think you should relax. People are chatting a little bit, and that's a
big part of networking and being comfortable in your professional
environment.
Would you close down the bar at the next GWA convention and make everybody
go to their hotel rooms at eight o'clock?
