list driving me batty

Gee- I come into the office this Monday morning to find an incredible number
of worthless (to me) messages.  I receive the list in digest form which is
increasingly clogged with multiple responses, html garble, and unknown
responses - not to mention the completely off topic information.

The list obviously serves as a social forum of connection for many people
and that will not change I guess, but for those who seem to have lots of
time to spend on the computer, I wish you would keep this list tight and
others chatty.  I am on three other lists, (none related to gardening), get
tons of junk mail, am always juggling several professinal correspondences
and inquiries, and have no time for noise.  I normally (this being the
exception) only respond when I have a direct opinion, but just wanted to
make this one hopeful stab at finding a way to remain on a list I *could*
find useful.

I am in no way trying to be arrogant here, folks, so please don't jump all
over me and start spreading the word in the industry that am *difficult* or
a jerk, but this is one busy person who is not intending to respond to this
list anymore because I will be deleting it when it comes in.  I will monitor
it once every week or so for the occasional nugget and will respond off line
when I can.  (Marty - how did I miss your photo rates question ?  How ?
Must of been noise.....).

E-mail me directly for info and responses - please don't clog the system
with more rants.  Taking a deep breath and heading off into my garden and
away from this electronic mess - Saxon holt
