Hi Betty,

   The problem is that the gwlphotos alias has to be open to the public
   to receive messages since it's not hosted on the same server as the
   gwlphotos list.  A spam trawler probably picked up the email 
   address in a web-accessible copy of the GWL list, so it was added
   to a master mailing list used for unsolicited bulk email (spam).

   We could close the gwlphotos alias off and require moderator approval
   for the messages that go to it, but someone would have to volunteer
   and already know how to use majordomo with the moderation features
   (I just don't have the time to do it right now).
