Re: Lexington gardens

Hello Penne,
You may want to begin with Commonwealth Arboretum at University of Kentucky. Contact them at 606 257-1601. There is a directory of Gardens in North America compiled by the American Assoc. of Botanical Gardens & Arboreta. Comes in handy once in a while. Perhaps they could give you additional leads for the immediate area. Also check the yellow pages for large established nurseries and garden centers... of which there is an abundance in Lexington. They should be in the know on gardens.

I am arranging a 3-day gardens tour for the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs next June.  Anyone on the list know of exceptional public or available private gardens in the Lexington, Kentucky area?  Please contact me at curmodep@verizon.net.  Penne Curmode, garden writer and tour operator
