A friend with a certified organic farm maintains "sustainable" means no importation of anything a plant needs. Fertilizers and mulches produced on the premises, and seeds are saved. She was using sheep's wool to see how that worked out as a mulch, but I don't think it was effective. For those of you who look at the price of wool clothing and think she was being foolish, it's difficult for small sheep ranchers to sell wool. Margaret L
I agree with Jacqui that sustainable gardening needs to be represented in GWA. Maybe someone can suggest that it be a workshop at the 2004 symposium, for a start. Doreen Howard
