RE: Compost Tea Confusion

Title: Message
I finally remembered the name of the researcher at Ohio State! He's Harry Hoitink. I am including a link to a study he did comparing compost tea to a fungicide. He is not as sophisticated as Elaine Ingham, but the work is solid. Here's the link:

I'm sure you can find other material of his as well.

Not to be a curmudgeon, but I also checked out the Wormgold website for the results of their "testing." Discounting, again, all the anecdotes, the plate tests with Wormgold tea vs. various pathogens was interesting. I would say it's only a start, though, because it's a long stretch to go from a petri dish to the field. In a petri dish, there are so many things that could affect growth of a pathogen. I would not be at all surprised if there was even an effect from using real (China) tea!!
