Symposium in Vancouver
Hi Doreen and all...first I must apologize for not getting to this. I had
planned, but after our region meetings I went back to my room, unpacked
everything and promptly had a nap :) The symposium in Vancouver made me very
proud to be a Canadian. To hear what our guests from the U.S. had to say
about the different places they visited was so good for the soul. Of course
having it in Vancouver made it extra special because it is a wonderful
scenic city in itself. I thought it was planned so well. I don't think we
had any travel issues, nor any other issues for that matter. I know Brian
was so nervous about us all visiting but have to say it was a magical visit.
Every visit had something to offer us and that is what the symposiums are
all about - that and networking of course and when one does not have to take
a nap, they get more of that in as well!
On another note, may I add that last year our Region 7 had a tour going to
England, and next July 2-10th we are off again to Holland and Belgium. Our
member in Holland - who was at the symposium - has helped me put together a
wonderful tour just for the members of the GWA. If you would like further
information on it, please send me an email.

Subject: [GWL] Symposium Party & Mystery Mailer
Hi All,
The Vancouver GWL party was a success and enjoyed by all who attended, about
25 list members. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the sumptuous
appetizer array. It was fabulous--duck pizza, spring rolls, etc. The
conversation and networking were fabulous, too.
The highlight of the Vancouver symposium, IMHO, was our visit to Brian
Minter's display garden in Chilliwack. It was ethereal and better than many
botanical gardens.
