Re: Listserve abuse by Lon Rombough
Ok. let's run a little review here.
1. I am the FOUNDER of the list. Doreen is a co-owner added to take
up slack riding herd on the list when I'm away.
2. Before you go blowing your mouth to hell and back, check your ISP,
your spam filters, and look at the ARCHIVES. The first two can stop
messages almost arbitrarily, and looking at the archives will show if
the letter was posted or not.
3. I have been moderating a FEW members who can't seem to remember
when to reply to a person or the list. Reminding never did any good,
so I just put them on moderate. I'm not about to tell how long the
moderation lasts because the offenders watch themselves just that long
and then go right back after it's over. I have to SEE that they are
cured.
In the case of motormouth Campbell, he made personally snotty comments
onlist.
4. If you aren't responsible enough to know how to write to the list
and not abuse it, how the HELL did you ever presume to be a writer of
ANY kind?
5. This list is a PRIVATE list. It is NOT part of the GWA, though it
was started because the GWA is too chicken to have one of their own. I
can see why. It is by invitation only. And if you have a problem
with that, I invite you to the world. In other words, you may kindly
get the HELL out.
I'm sure that the whiners are going to cry and flame all over the
list, but I wouldn't expect any more of them.
You have a legitimate problem, you take it up with ME. If you post it
on this list, you are HISTORY!

Lon,
Unless I am mistaken, you took my message re the GWA and the need for
help on PAR off the listserve before it was sent to the members.I
believe this list is owned by Doreen. Does she know you do this kind
of thing? Those of us who have been "hit" by your petty censorship
resent it. This has to stop. You had no right to do this. I suspect
it is because you have personal feelings about the macroscope. Get
over it before it is too late, my friend. I discovered at the GWA
that you pull this shit on almost everyone who posts. We resent it
and we won't put up with it.

Doreen, FYI here is the original message that 'never made it.'
Hi folks,
For those who missed it, the GWA meeting was terrific. Really great!
Vancouver is a terrific city, the hotel was fine (ie enough
elevators) and Brian Minter did a great job. His garden is fantastic
and all the other venues were quite good. There was much wine and
even some cheese! Even the box lunches were terrific! Next year
should be a great on as well. Plan now!We missed you.
One of the things you missed is that GWA is making a big effort to
help local food needs so that those who are impacted by katrina can
be helped more easily the the Plant A Row for the Hungry program and
the Canadian equivalent. All garden writers are urged to act
now....this includes radio and T.V. folks. The need becomes even
more widespread by the temporary relocation of families.
We are hoping you will help out. As an inducement the best effort
will win a MacroScope with lens caps and strap. Send in your efforts
to Robert LeGasse...or to me. You shouldn't need any inducement
however. Gardeners always share and now we really need to act like
gardeners.
Again, we missed you all and hope to see you next year.
Cheers,
Jeff L
