I am lending all the expertise I can muster to help Doreen and Doug
manage/configure the technical aspects of this list and interface with
the ibiblio staff, running the list software, Mailman. In a word,
the content filtering you mentioned above applies only to messages
appended to the archives, not to messages delivered in email to all list
subscribers. It is up to you to configure your email client not to
display html and attached files in the message body window. If done, any
attachments will appear in a separate window for you to display or
delete as desired. Posts from non subscribers are automatically
discarded, though.

No problem at all, apologies for my inappropriate reaction. It taught me
a valuable lesson: back up your bookmarks and email folders frequently.
You did me a favor.

An easy solution to spam filtering and deletion os to install and use
Mozilla browser and its email and news client. It has automatic spam
filtering that you can educate. You do need to keep an eye on it to
avoid deleting non spam messages once in a while.

I hope Charles will stay subscribed to the GWL list.
