Canon Rebel XT

Hi Everyone,

I just upgraded from my Kodak DX 6340 digital to theCanon Rebel XT. On
the Kodak, once I set the orientation sensor to "on," I never had to do
another thing to my vertical shots. I have turned the XT's auto-rotate
function to "on," but it only seems to rotate the picture while the card
is inside the camera. When I put the memory card in a reader to download
photos to my computer, they all have to be manually rotated and re-saved.
It doesn't matter which software I use. I have found nothing about this
in my manual, on the training video, or in on-line tutorials.

I had to manually rotate 70 of 85 pictures I took of trees. This can't be
right for a camera that "does everything," can it??? Does Canon call this
something else?

HELP!!!

Regards,
