Re: Looking for home gardeners
I loved Betty's example of the person planting and tending veggie gardens for her clients. Not just because it's a brilliant idea, but because it illustrates, in my mind, why, as a gardener, I wouldn't use the service Miriam proposes. In fact, I did have gardening clients for about four years. I initially recruited them by distributing a flyer in upscale neighborhoods. I got a lot more clients than I ever would have expected, and then got more from referrals. I learned, at least in my area, that many lawn services were advertising gardening services without actually having qualified gardeners on staff. In other words, any knowledgeable gardener willing to put in a minimal amount of effort can easily find their own clients.
