Home gardeners feedback

Many thanks again for the continued feedback. Please keep the comments
coming.

What I'm picking up is that there appears to be a real demand on the
customer side, which is great news if the right people can be found to
satisfy their needs. There does appear to be a gap in the market filled with
money that could be drawn into the industry. And more money in the industry
is good news for all.

As Jo Ellen said, "do what you know". If all you're willing to do is offer
expert advice, then only list that service. I'll bet lots of consumers would
appreciate impartial advice while considering whether to invest considerable
sums in landscaping services. There's probably a good demand for smaller
ad-hoc and regular maintenance jobs and advice sessions alongside the bigger
projects. Every service provider states clearly which tasks they're willing
to take on. And those who are more enterprising can team up as in the
example Jo Ellen gave.

In answer to CL's question about quality control, yes, the plan is to have a
user feedback and rating system and the profiles will include a section to
state relevant qualifications. As many quality checkpoints as practically
possible will be incorporated. This is going to be a lot more informative
than a simple list of advertisements.
Yes too that the profiles will be searchable by local area.
It's going to be a real web 2.0 project.

It sounds as though those of you who have already ventured into this area
have already carved out a personal niche. I wonder what other sources could
be investigated to round up appropriately skilled and knowledgeable service
providers to meet the surplus consumer demand?

Regards,
Miriam
