I've been growing them in pots and just put them in the basement. They sprout when their clocks tell them it's time so I don't even have to think about when to bring them up. Got them for a song in Costco after we saw them in Hawaii. CT version of course never gets to Hawaii-size.
Love the color and fragrance. Since they're a bulb, they're also very independent -- no need to fuss with them at all. Dry seasons don't bother them, neither do insects or any disease for the 5 years or so I've had them. Easy, easy, easy.
