Wasps
I live in northern Virginia and in my little piece of the world, wasps do an amazing job of insect control. After a bad winter, they cleaned all of the scale off on my magnolia.
Since I don't bother them, they don't bother me. I know where they are nesting, and where the bumblebees are nesting and I am able to share the space. They are not after people.
And they will be gone when it gets cold.
