Reminds me of customers who come in to the garden center asking us to

identify a mass of pink flowering plants they saw when they were driving at

65 MPH. That's the sum total of the info they provide!

Around here that would be hesperis. I get that kind of question all the

time, and I always answer with something. Remember, they don't know squat,

so it is unlikely they are going to correct you.

Meanwhile, the wasp quest. Went to the Big City today and came back with

nine -- count 'em, nine -- cans of wasp spray. Also got a ten foot piece of

PVC and hose connecters. Thank you, Lawrence; even if I don't use it on my

compost pile, it might come in handy for something else. And at WalMart for

a buck forty-nine I got a mesh hood. Maybe tomorrow night I will have worked

up enough courage.
