 Diagnosis=Crown Rot.
Treatment=Dig up plant immediately. Remove dead necrotic tissue. Dust with a 
fungicide. Leave out of ground in sunlight for 8 hours.

Replant in pots. 
In the place they were growing , douse with straight Clorox.
