Chick, although you are in nuresery conditions which gives you a little more latitude. The National Capital Daylily Club Members generally use October 1, as the last digging date for the DC metro area.  Earlier if it is a known "non"-hardy semi-evergreen, or a little later if it is a known hard dormant.
