Mike,
Here is the info I have on it:
Hosta 'White Wall Tire'
(Avent 95)
Origin: Hybrid of H. 'Out House Delight'
16" tall, 44" wide.
AHSJ V27-1,V25-2 inside front cover.
Creamy white-green speckling (virdescent) rippled margin.
Tony Avent: "H. 'White Wall Tire' has a new type of streakiness...perhaps
we should call it frosting, that has not been seen in hostas before."
I haven't gotten the supplement yet. What is he asking for it?
And of course H. 'Out House Delight' is the fertile seedling of the sterile
H. undulata. I just received H. 'Out House Delight' in the mail yesterday
from Plant Delights. At this stage it isn't as ugly as he claims. The old
growth is all green now with rippled margined narrow leaves and the new
growth coming up around it white with green speckling. Can't wait to start
hybridizing with it next year.
Has anyone planted seeds from H. 'Out House Delight' yet?
What are your results?
Thanks!
