When I first started gardening, everything I planted in the shady rock
garden died. Except for these green leafy things that were there, and they
kept coming back, in spite of me. Took a leaf to a nursery, and was told it
was a "hosta" Bought a few more, green and white ones.
The following year, I rescued a sick yellow looking hosta on the clearance
table. The following year, I couldn't beleive my eyes...it was
beautiful...it was Gold Standard, which remains a favorite today.
Set out on a mission to find another Gold Standard, and thats when I
discovered the huge assortment and got hooked!
