Based on radiation experiments Arabidopsis is estimated to have 28000
genes. So my educated guess of 25000 genes is not too bad.
Hosta has about 50 times more DNA than Arabidopsis, and 3 to 4
times more as humans, what does not mean Hosta has more genes.
Bakers yeast has already about 5000 genes
