Good evening, Charles:
I used to make raised bed in late summer by laying down about 8-10" of oak,
maple, and ash leaves. On top of that I put 4-6" of partially decomposed cow
manure. Come spring I planted directly into this lush black gold.
Two years ago, the farmer didn't deliver partially decomposed cow poop. That
was the last time my wife let me buy the stuff...my neighbor, too!
