Winter has definitely arrived

Well after what had to be the nicest December on record (at least the first
three weeks) winter has definitely arrived in Western NY.  We got 2 feet of
snow on New Years Eve and the strom from the midwest is
due to dump another foot plus, sleet and freezing rain before the day is
out.  Hopefully the thick layer of white mulch will be enough to
protect most of the plants from the coming ice.  At least I've got a couple
