Look Alike Hostas

If we all use the same thread our archives will keep all of our post on this
subject together for future reference.

Choko-Nishiki==equals=on stage
Patriot-----similar----Minute Man
Lady Isobel Barnet---similar to---Sum it up, and at least 5 others.
Peridot--same as---Devon Green,
Ellerbrock(sp)--equal to-Fortunei Aureo Marg.
Guardian Angel--similar to--Angel Eyes, Nanticoke Angel
Nigrescens--very, very, similar--Tenryu

Watch out for mis-spellings.

Tony Avent said at Hosta in focus that there are only about 500 distinct
hostas. With over 3,000 cultivars floating there are hundreds of more look
alikes. I would like to see this information posted on a web page for all to
see eventually. It sure would save hosta collectors a lot of money. It would
also take the profit out of people introducing look alike hostas.
