Re: Sum and Substance Sports (III)

Open Robins,

It occurred to me that several readers on Hosta-open may not be familiar
with the Hosta Wheel/ Hosta Clock concept....therefore this post to give
you an idea of the way related sports are placed on the wheel according
to their colors and variegation patterns.

The following named cultivars and named sports of Sum and Substance are
included in the recently published document "Hosta Big Wheels", with a
couple of corrections/additions to bring it up to date.

At six oclock is Sum and Substance(Aden), progenitor of all others in
this group of related sports.

At 4 oclock place several possible synonyms with yellow borders, i.e.
   Sum It Up(Zilis)
   Pomp and Circumstance(Meyer)
   Corona(Braun-Naurez/Warmerdam 1996)
   Tiffaneys Godzilla(Dreesen 1996)
   Sum Total(Pedick 1991)
   Lady Isobel Barnett(Grenfell 1996)
   Supersonic(Anderson 1996)
   Beauty Substance(England)
   Winters Edge (new name...Bottom Line,Anderson)
   Eagle's Nest(Lydell)

At two oclock place Parhelion(Walters 1997) and David Haskell

At 12 oclock place Irish Hill(Anderson 1996)

At 10 oclock place Ferris Wheel(Summers)

At eight oclock place Sum Treasure and Sumthing Good(Falstad)

In the center place Stark's Streaked Sport and Winter Snow(Anderson)

Above it, in the light green area, place Doumain De Coursan(Van
Doorslaer/Grenfell 1996)

Final comment, perhaps Ken Marek would like to copy to OLG for their
