Diane,
You have a lot of hosta "expert folks" in your area. Have some people over
who are doing hybridizing and see what they think. It's interesting to see
which seedlings will catch someone else's eye. I swear by the rule of growing
them at least 5 years before evaluation. They change a lot over the years.
