Peri
You have no doubt been following the discussion on Hostas from Dutch
sources so the plant you have might not even be true as Clyde and Ken have
suggested. I have been to Willowbrook and the plant they have is probably
what was sent to them as sieboldiana and not to be confused with
sieboldiana 'Elegans'. You have also got an immature plant in a pot and the
label is giving you a description for the mature plant. I have grown many
plants in the sieboldiana family and they all seem to be fairly slow
growers with a very different look in their youth. The blue could have been
washed off with overhead watering which many of us in Southern Ontario have
had to resort to in this drought. The only sure way is to let the plant
grow to a mature form, then do a vein count and evaluate to it's
characteristics. Probably not the definitive answer you were looking for
but thats the joys of buying hosta from nurseries that are not specializing
in Hosta.
