Re: Foliar Fertilizer for Hostas ?

Dan,
How did you come up with this combo. and how heavily do you apply, not necessarily your mix, bit foliar feedings in general?
Do you do it in the a.m. or p.m.?  Why do people cringe at doing this?  Just because of spotting?
Do you wait after a rainfall, before one, or what conditions?
Out of questions!
Thanks

Subject: Foliar Fertilizer for Hostas ?

Anybody out there using a "cocktail" as a foliar fertilizer and drench?

I spent several hours today applying 600 gallons of the following
solution.

Ingredients:

10 pounds Peters water soluble fertilizer 20-20-20

4 pounds Epsom salts

1 gallon fish emulsion.

600 gallons well water.

Spray until the whole place smells like fish. Hosta colors seem to have
more contrast after foliar feeding. Foliar feeding also seems to help
with a healthy second flush of growth on some hostas.
