Mark Zilis was near Joanne, Margot, and me as we walked through Clarence
Owens' garden. We found H. 'Big John' and immediately spotted H. 'Green
Dragonet,' which was much bigger. Mark measured it, as he is wont to
do, and told us that it was the second-largest hosta he had ever
measured, its size exceeded only by Van and Shirley Wade's huge clump of
H. 'Sum and Substance.' We certainly agreed with Indiana Bob's opinion
that H. 'Black Jack' was also outstanding. Irwin Johnson
