H fortunei

It is long known H Fortunei is a hybrid . Unfortunately at some time
H Tokudama was named H fortunei, only later it became H
Tokudama. Later on another plant from von Siebold was named H
Fortunei . ,later considered a hybrid. If you now consider, as many
do, that H Tokudama is a var of sieboldiana its proper name is than
H sieboldiana var fortunei.
That is the reason people prefer the to use Tokudama instead of
the proper name H sieboldiana var fortunei
