If it were my garden, I would clear off the mulch and put it in a pile. Then I
would dig the hostas and pack them tightly together and pile the mulch back on
top to prevent freezing and thawing. Why pot them? Waste of energy. Hostas are
tough plants and can withstand a lot. Just my thoughts.
