Hosta 'Cherry Berry' Hardiness?

Hello,
I bought a large pot of Hosta 'Cherry Berry' last year and divided it. I
put two divisions into my garden and the other 3 went into pots. Out of the
5 plants only one survived the winter. The two in the garden are dead and
two that I had sunk into the ground next to the garage for the winter are
also dead. I had one pot sunk next to the house and that is the only one to
have pulled through the winter.
I planted Hosta 'Tattoo' last summer in the same garden and it is doing
fine. I had heard that 'Tattoo' might need a little protection and was a
little worried it wouldn't survive the winter, but is the same true for
'Cherry Berry'? All of my other Hostas came through with flying colors.
Any ideas why 'Cherry Berry' died? (I had planted them in mid June, so
they had most of the summer to become established. I kept them well watered
through the summer)
All of my Tricyrtis (which are of borderline hardiness here in 4a) came
through the winter perfectly.
