I have looked and looked through my copy of the Constitution and cannot find
this requirement anywhere. We obviously do not apply an intelligence test to
the candidates, don't see why we need one for the voters. Course, if I get to
decide who's smart enough to vote, I might go along with it.
It seems to me that the only people who have anything to fear from a recount are
the ones who fear that they did not get the most votes. If Gore asks for
numerous recounts and it is shown that there was nothing wrong with the original
count, he will be subject to endless ridicule and probably end any chance of
ever getting elected again. If on the other hand, the recounts show that he got
more votes than Dubya, then the person who won the election gets to be
President. Oh, maybe that's the problem...
