Kris, thank you for giving us something which is really serious to think 
about.  

Another thing that you can do is contact a school in your community and see 
it there is a family who has needs, usually counselors and school nurses have 
a good idea of who needs clothing and food items.  A gift certificate to a 
discount department store or a local food store is a blessing to some of 
these people who have the means to meet their basic needs but nothing for 
little extras.  

Everyone is willing to do these kinds of feel good activities at this time of 
year but there are needs that need to be met year round.
