Seriously though........I know a nurseryman that digs hostas in autumn and
stores them bare root in trays in a refridgerator the size of my house.

get shipped out in spring.

This is what I heard...therefore it can be done...but how exactly? Any
special packaging? temps? moisture requirements? How exactly do I proceed?
Nothing rare or unusual in my humble collection, but I would hate to loose
even one!
