RE: heeellllllooooooooo

Andrew,

There are many things to do with your hostas this time of year. Here's a few
on my list which 2 helpers and I did for 8 hours today.

1) Move hostas that need more space.
2) Propagate hostas by making divisions.
3) Divide sporting divisions from the clump they are growing in.
4) Make bud cuttings to isolate sports.
5) Observe if a hosta has been growing is too much sun or shade and move it
to a location in your garden that better suits it's needs.
6) Clear areas of weeds and other plants for hostas your are moving.
7) Raise the canopy of trees your are growing hostas under.
8) Create better pathways in your garden.
9) Make note of plants that have suffered from southern blight so you can
begin preventive fungicide applications next season BEFORE symptoms appear.
10) Scout for volunteer seedlings that may cause confusion next season when
they grow as large as the named cultivar you have labeled.
11)Make note where in your garden you need to plant new trees this fall or
spring to shade existing hosta plantings.
12) Check the listserve and thank god that Asian lady beetles didn't get in
our wine glasses.
13) Write a posting about hostas on a hosta listserve.

PS. For Ken's question as what to call a male lady beetle. I suggest Mister
or Sir.

Heeellllloooo Ken Marek,
RE:>>> is the list server dead..........
Yes, you could say that some of us are in "the eye of the Hurricane". It's
a rather nice place to be, actually, so I'm trying to enjoy it and not be
pestered! Hehehe...!
